  2. “Not cool.” Sheesh. I probably don’t wanna know what’s in this video since I like Dave right now, but I think I’m going to have to watch it anyway. *sigh* Here goes.

  3. Goodness. I guess he’s much better at expressing himself in writing. Wow.

  4. I’m not sure what you mean … I used “not cool” in reference to the school administrators banning the line of his under discussion. I think he expresses himself fine. :)

  5. Ah; I see. I agree that banning his line was idiotic, but I did think his answers kind of meandered; he couldn’t seem to spit out what he wanted to say clearly. Or maybe it just seemed that way to me because I’m sick and miserable and doped up on ineffective over-the-counter sinus medicine. *sigh*

  6. WHOOT!

I love Dave Barry, he’s a wonderful example of a libertarian and a satirist.

“Most of the presidential candidates’ economic packages involve ‘tax breaks,’ which is when the government, amid great fanfare, generously decides not to take quite so much of your income. In other words, these candidates are trying to buy your votes with your own money.”

If you like Dave Barry, you’d probably also enjoy this game I found called “2011: Obama’s Coup Fails”, you can google it. I can only imagine what type of reaction it would inspire on campuses around the country, I’m sure it’ll be branded as racist and then be petitioned to be shut down.

  7. The reason you hear Dave Barry “meandering” is because people his/my age are left spluttering at trying to address the insanity of Speech Codes. You can have no idea of the dichotomy of reality as perceived by someone born in the ’40s versus anyone born since the ’60s. It’s virtually impossible to express.

Try to imagine having an endless argument with someone who denies the existence of gravity. Try to imagine describing the resulting frustration to a world full of people who think you’re imagining it. Getting a feel for it?

As F.I.R.E recognizes, Gramscian Marxism is about disorientation through misdirection. It’s very difficult to grasp the concept that there’s no point in arguing with or refuting the Thought Police, simply because they don’t mean what they’re saying – it’s simply a technique to make you doubt the evidence of your own senses.

What you’re seeing in Barry’s struggling with the issue is the result of an intelligent person trying to come to grips with the demand “Who you gonna believe? Me, or your lyin eyes?” It makes a sane person nuts, just like it’s intended to.

Great stuff, and thanks for posting it.
