Dancing Cast Announced
And the number of the counting shall be 82 … Cloris Leachman, 82 years old. Yowza. Paired with Mark Ballas’s dad, Corky, which is just awesome.
Here’s the full lineup. The other big news seems to be that 1) Mercifully, Lance Bass will be paired with a woman. It’s not about homosexuality, it’s about dancing, which in a ballroom pairing requires the complementary movements of man v. woman. Period. and 2) Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy! He’s back! I’m dubious as to how many moves she’s got, and Maks will have to go far to find a partner more likely to win than Mel B, but Misty May has earned a lot of goodwill from me by the sheer awesomeness of inviting the President of the United States to slap her rump. She and Kerri Walsh were class all the way.
Cheers: Anna Trebunskaya is not back. Jeers: Karina Sneeroff is. But she’s paired with a celebrity chef I know nothing about, so here’s hoping she’ll dance her way off fairly early.

Picking a winner? I’ll be pulling for Warren Sapp, but I’m going to say Cody Linley takes it. (Julianne Hough as his partner + Hannah Montana fan base + youth = victory.) Although Lance will be a threat – Drew Lachey proved the boy-banders can dance, and Lacey Schwimmer was awesome on SYTYCD and will have fans of her own. After that, Susan Lucci and Maurice Greene are the runners-up.
The day Kim Kardashian goes home will be a day of celebration.

That sounds about right to me, but not all the boy-banders can dance–Joey McIntyre was okay but nothing special like Drew or Joey Fatone. Like the football players, it just depends on the individual. I was already tired of youth + Julianne taking it when Apolo won, and I won’t like it more when it’s a teenage actor instead of a gold medalist. I’ll get back to you after the first ep or so. Maybe I’ll actually like the kid once I see him. Crotchety in my old age!
Jonas Brothers for a results-show act … again. Hasn’t anybody noticed they can’t sing? Well, less I have to watch, I guess. Crotchety!

I read that Susan Lucci’s going to be on Dancing, too. Considering Marie Osmond’s dramatic weight loss, and how skeletal Lucci already is, I sure hope that woman doesn’t disappear while we’re watching!
