For a TV Girl, I Can Be Pretty Dumb About TV

For example, I never knew that the Mad Men everybody’s raving about is on a channel I actually get, namely AMC, as opposed to HBO or Showtime. Duh. Guess it’s time to set the TiVo, though I hate coming in a season late.

  1. Season 1’s out on DVD – it’s somewhere near the top of our Netflix list. I’m actually kind of hoping we don’t care for it, because if we like it, that’s just more stuff to watch.

  2. As funny as that is, I feel the same way–nothing I really adored was cancelled last year, so it was kind of a relief when I suddently had two or three fewer shows to watch, even though I was sorry to see them go. I wasn’t going to look very strenuously for replacements … but then there’s the usual “You have to watch this, you’ll love it …” … and hey, they might be right! I’m giving Burn Notice a try as well because I love Gabrielle Anwar. And of course my Fillion is coming back this fall–I’m hoping I really love that one.

  3. If you have Comcast it’s available On Demand, I actually think you might not like it. But I might be wrong. I like it for the time periodness of it (1960 never looked so good) – and the writing can be solid from time to time.
