You’re Gonna Buy This Stuff Anyway: Use My Widget!

I’ve allied myself with the Amazon Empire and put up a widget with my recommendations (updated frequently with good stuff!) and a search box. When you buy Amazon goods through my site, I’ll get a percentage that will help pay for my webhosting, etc. I may look into getting a new theme that will have the widgets on one side and the Recent Comments back up high on the other side, but for now the Amazon widget will stay on top. Go forth! Buy goodies! Thanks.

  1. I did that. Nobody bought. I tried to use the thing where you get credit if somebody buys something you mention, and ended up with inappropriate links all through my posts (no doubt it was my fault for not understanding their technology). So now I’m linking to them when talking about certain books or products and not even getting any credit. Or money.

I know you’ll have better luck. I’ll come buy over here. (Note: You don’t get credit when you buy on your own site. Tried that. Figured I should at least get a discount….)

  2. Not to sound too dirty, but maybe “Use my box” might not be the best title. If you get my drift. Okay, I officially have a dirty mind.

  3. Text altered to preserve the virtue of the innocent … you dirty-minded thing, you. :)

Anne, thanks–both for saying you’ll buy and for the warning of what to expect. I figured that might be the case but that it couldn’t hurt to try.

  4. Besides, I used to link to their stuff for no money anyway … not going to hurt to add the *chance* of making some money when I link. ;)
