A disproportionate number of Oregon hits on my blog are referred by a search-engine query for marijuana.

I could really stand to move out of this state.

  1. Just curious… are the searches for “marijuana” alone or a combination of keywords to include “Oregon?” You did blog about Oregon marijuana laws so it sort of makes sense that people from Oregon would end up here if they were interested in the subject.

And why would that make you want to move?

  2. Yes, I did blog about Oregon medical marijuana law, and yes, that’s what’s getting the hits. Of course a disproportionate number of my hits from the rest of the country come from searches for “funny bumper sticker.” So that’s not much better. :)

  3. My point is that I could be getting Oregon hits from any of several Oregon-related things I’ve blogged about … but nooo, it’s almost all medical marijuana. My trust in all of those people actually needing *medical* marijuana is very slight.

  4. Okay, I’m a little slow. I understand what you’re saying now. And, no, I’m not smoking marijuana. =D

Mine too, but is it clear they’re actually looking for the stuff itself, rather than information on MM as a political issue?

  6. Most of the search strings are in the nature of “how to get a medical marijuana card in oregon” or “price of medical marijuana” … etc.
