To the person driving in Beaverton yesterday with the bumper sticker that said, “It has become appallingly clear that our technology has surpassed our humanity”–Do you drive that obviously aged Subaru because you believe that? Or do you believe that because you drive an obviously aged Subaru?

  1. I’m not at all sure what is appallingly clear. If you’re talking about keeping people alive who would be better off if nature took its course, yes, our technology is exceeding our humanity (however, I don’t think it’s okay to euthanize them). If you’re talking about giving a baby an organ transplant, I think it’s clear that technology has enhanced our humanity.

Technology also allows me to stay in touch with people I care about and keep our relationships close. I could go on and on.

I’m sure he could too. Glad he has a small Subaru bumper.

  2. I’m sure that person would be shocked at the amount of technology that goes into the manufacture of the average bumper sticker.
