Cost control will also dictate who receives medical treatment later in life, and to what extent. If you’re 80 years old, retired, and on the plan you might well be expendable.
Don’t think it won’t happen. Look at the NHS in England. The right to die becomes the duty top die.

That is one of many reasons why government health care is a horrible idea. I think it’s in the UK, where sometime if you request a dentist under emergency situations, they’ll make you go 200 miles to get to the “approved” dentist. That’s ridiculous.
