Note to “Moderate Republicans”

One hundred billion out of an eight- or nine-hundred-billion bill is not “moderate.” It is “turncoat.” If this passes and prolongs seven-percent unemployment, which it will, on your heads be it, Snowe, Collins, and Specter.

  1. You know, my husband worked (indirectly) as an IT contractor for GE, who we’re hearing all about how poorly they’re doing. He was laid off last Friday “due to the economic situation.”

I heard our new President say something about the unemployment rate being so high and “we need to help them.”

We’ve both agreed that we don’t want the government’s help. We want them to move their incompetent, boundary-crossing selves out of our way so we dig ourselves out of the hole they have created. It’s not the government’s job to “help” where they’re unwanted. Really, we can make a mess out of our own affairs without them stepping in and making it worse.
