You’re so right about the lack of villains other than the Evil Empire itself, the USA. All 57 states.

It’s hard to find anything to watch. I had hopes for this movie, too, but heroes who have aged don’t always age well.

It’s easy - and fun - at this point to blame Lucas, but I think blame will be shared by the triumverate (Ford, Spielberg and Lucas) if this one is a clunker. We’re all hoping “Indy 4″ wasn’t a project about the money - that the principals loved the character, the adventure, more than any easy payday. But having read about the profit sharing deals attached to the film and the early reviews, I’m skeptical.

Still, I’ll be glued to my seat at the critic’s screening next Sunday hoping the early bad buzz is just Internet noise.

I recommend “Iron Man.” Just saw it. Lots of fun, and it actually features an evil villain or two. Kind of sad that’s so rare these days.
