Flags at Fort Sumter. Plus park ranger:

Plus moon:

Plus honor (the flag that was flying when Beauregard opened fire on the fort, which Major Anderson later had hauled down and carried away when his men were permitted to march out):

Just plus–from left to right, an earlier version of the American flag, the first Confederate flag, the South Carolina flag, the current American flag, the second Confederate flag, and an earlier American flag:

  1. Whew! I couldn’t name which flag was which beyond the S.C. and current U.S. ones.

Isn’t it funny that the Confederate flag that gets people all upset isn’t among them? I should know why, but I don’t. I think it was the battle flag or something. I have no idea so I’ll shut up now.

Good pictures. Got the wind and the moon to cooperate.

  2. Yeah, I think the other one is the battle flag–and it’s there, it’s just the cornerpiece to the white one second from the right. I suppose there are people around who would get upset over the Con. flags pictured, but they probably have bigger fish to fry.
