Not at all complicated. The minor to moderate celebrities are paired with professional dancers; every week they have a routine (or, in the later states, two routines); they perform and are judged live by professional ballroom dance judges, and people at home can vote for their favorites. They then combine the judges' scores with the viewers' votes, and the couple with the lowest combined total goes home each week.

It is less cut-throat than the shows where the contestants themselves vote people down, and less melodrama than American Idol. If you enjoy watching good dancing, I recommend it.

I guess from here on out I have to be voting every week (instead of waiting for the finals as I usually do). As they say, no complaining about the result unless you use your vote. Poor Sabrina.

You almost make me want to wrest the remote control from my husband's iron grip and turn this show on. Not sure I could keep up, though. Seems very complicated.

This past elimination was UNBELIEVABLE. Without a doubt, Sabrina had the most potential and always came out as one of the best dancers. I expected her to be THE finalist, or at least in the last two. I voted for Mel and Helio with all my votes because I figured Sabrina had it made anyway and I especially wanted to see Mel continue. I guess quite a few people must have done the same thing that I did, voting for their second favorite because they figured Sabrina was sure to go on. Or maybe she just isn't popular and people aren't really watching her dancing? That seems so silly. I don't know. I don't think i will watch this show anymore.

Does the season ever end??? ;-)

Actually that last comment is more a muse towards my wife than you, she's a fanatic about the whole thing. Me I'm much more interested in the Fox Reality show, "Picking the Next Elvira" as in Elvira the vampiress who used to host all the corny spooky shows. Buch of hotties strutting around in sexy vampire suites (mostly hot dominatrix type lingerie). Would be a lot better with booze but I don't drink during the week. Maybe I should write a guest post! Just kidding, I mostly just survey the outfits and press on to the History channel; but they are down to the final three contestants with the winner being picked tonight (of course).

Obviously a slow day at work…
Cheers
