Pandora, as Norm tried to point out, "sane" was not the only criterium I mentioned. He's not speaking of the difference between "any" and "almost;" he's speaking of the difference between "I'm in favor of allowing in any sane person" and what I actually wrote, which was "...any sound, sane, upstanding, law-abiding person who" either wants to become a citizen or wants to go to a U.S. university. I.E. I think people who want to become permanent citizens, with all the responsibilities that entails, would do well to assimilate a bit more than, say the people who have been rallying for illegals over the past couple of years, with the Mexican flag upper most. And people who want to go to school here should be required to either return home after they get their degree, or to become a citizen, not allowed to linger on indefinitely as noncitizens.

"...I am in favor of allowing in almost any sound, sane, upstanding, law-abiding person who wants a) to become a U.S. citizen..."

Reading comprehension: fine. The difference between 'almost' and 'any' in this context is a distinction without a difference. We'd still be inundated beyond recognition.

I didn't mention legal; she wrote 'citizen' so I assumed that's what she meant and that's what I included in my comment.

I commented on the issue without being insulting.

I suggest you do the same. Norm.

You want to allow 'any sane' individual to come be a citizen? Almost the entire world wants to come; how many before the place isn't worth living in for anybody?

That cannot be done and remain a sovereign nation.
